TRIO Provides Custom Solution for Brick Manufacturer
Companies look to TRIO for custom-engineered equipment and an exceptional value.
A large, regional block manufacturer teamed with TRIO to develop an innovative new process for recycling defective products. This required a plant that could reduce a wide assortment of brick and block into reusable 3/8” minus material as efficiently as possible. The customer had previously purchased a larger static plant from TRIO in 2007 for a similar purpose. That plant, which was set up for a higher capacity production rate, has been running trouble free since its installation.
With less space available at another of its block plants, a smaller footprint, smaller capacity plant was necessary. Working with requests from the customer’s chief engineer, TRIO designed and supplied a system that incorporates two modular skid assemblies consisting of TRIO’s newest horizontal shaft impact crusher (the model APS 3030 triple stage machine), a TRIO CRP36 permanent magnet, a TRIO TTH 414 horizontal screen, and a series of on-plant conveyors.
The APS 3030 is a unique machine in that it incorporates a special crushing chamber design for efficient reduction of bricks and blocks. The use of the TTH414 screen, which employs an elliptical screening action, is key to ensuring the most efficient fine screening for this recovery process.
The plant is able to reach production levels of 40 TPH of the desired 3/8” finished product – which allows the client to reuse the recycled material in their batching materials for new products. All waste hauling and tipping has been eliminated, which generates a very short return on investment for the owners.
